Product info… The cream has a unique solid, yet whipped consistency and when kept in room temperature will remain in a hard form that you will scoop out with your fingertips. If it is kept in a hot place, it will liquify, just like coconut oil. But it will soon return to it’s solid state when kept out of the heat. Often riding in Liz’s car to mountain biking destinations, she sampled Liz’s tallow product kept with her at all times- for a quick lip fix, face protection or post-ride hands. She also noticed when Liz went out at night her arms and legs had a balmy sheen. One day in 2018, Liz finally gifted her some from a farmers market out west. Sarah was quickly addicted too, as she noticed the way it changed her skin to the point where people would ask her what she was doing differently. She had never tried anything like it. She researched it and learned that it scientifically all made sense why her skin looked and felt better. She remembered horseback riding at summer camp and they would use tallow to keep the saddles in top shape. Leather is skin and suddenly it really made even more sense. She then investigated how to make it and make because she wanted to share it with more people. She sought to improve upon the product she had first sampled. It caught on word of mouth as people tried it. Sarah, an interior designer and mother of four boys, teamed up with Sarah Cannova from Washington, DC, also a mother of four and owner and creator of the former popular DC shoe store, Sassanova. Sarah C., a savvy businessperson and product lover, soon also became obsessed after trying it. Even her son can’t live without it for his dry skin issues. Together and with the help of Sarah H.’s son, Spencer, a college student studying business and computer science in the Engineering School at UVA and Sarah H’s mom painted the logo. Together, we aim to turn more people on to the benefits of tallow. We collectively believe in sustainability and recognize that it’s environmentally sound and healthy to use ingredients found in nature.
